d'autres pensees

translation: other thoughts

the mind is a funny thing. while it was stressing out a bit over the amount of things i felt i needed to do last night it was somehow able to relax enough and convince my body that i really should just fall asleep when i got home at 9:30 and laid down for a few moments. i changed into pj pants and was asleep by 10pm.

odd.

and then this afternoon as i fished out the few pieces of chicken and pasta in the chicken noodle soup i was eating for lunch my mind somehow drifted to the man that created the "chicken noodle soup for the soul" series and how that man has created such a killing for himself, and how many different "chicken noodle soup" books there are for various souls, including the beautiful and touching, such as "the lover's soul" or "the mother's soul"--i think i've even seen "the cancer survivor's soul"--, to the borderline such as "the sorority sister's soul" (i swear i've seen this). i think i could make something like "chicken noodle soup for the stamp collector's soul" or for "the ferret-lover's soul", or even "the bollywood soul" and it would still sell.

then i thought i'd better have something really legitimate to say so i double-checked myself by putting "chicken noodle soup for the soul" in the amazon.com searchbox and sure enough, it came up with something ridiculous:

"chicken noodle soup for the american idol's soul."

and it's rated five stars. ugh.

clear the way, people. i'm going to finance my stamp collector's soul idea and make a million dollars.

more than anything else, i think i would like a hug this valentine's day.
